LONDON: Graham Hughes visited all 193 United Nations member states to earn a Guinness World Records title only to learn in the end that his efforts cannot be recognised because of a technical default, The Huffington Post reported.

According to the report, Graham Hughes, 33, took off the record-breaking trip in 2009. By November 26, 2012, he had reached his goal all by train, bus, taxi or ship.

However, in February the Guinness Book of World Records rejected Hughes because he crossed into Russia illegally.

“Due to media reports that described you snuck into some countries, we cannot accept your application, as we do not accept any illegal activity," read a letter sent to him from the judges.
