KARACHI: The Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) secretary Syed Azhar Ali Shah said that Pakistan’s chances of taking part in the junior event of Asian Cycling Championship have ended as visas were not issued by India in time.

“It is a shame,” Shah told The Express Tribune. “We were in a good position to bring home some medals in the juniors’ category as is apparent from the timings of the cyclists in the trials.”

However, he hoped that Pakistan’s senior team would be able to take part in the competition as their events will be staged from March 13 to 17.

“I’m hopeful that India’s interior ministry will clear our case and we’ll be able to take part in the seniors’ event.”
