PARIS: Sprint legend Usain Bolt is to run at the Cayman Invitational meeting on the Cayman Islands, confirmed the Jamaican athlete and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

“I have not competed there before but my coach was there last year and spoke well about the event,” said Bolt. “Sprinting in the Caribbean is stronger than ever and it is great to see new track and field meets starting up. I hope my presence in Cayman will inspire the youth and contribute to the development of the sport.”

Meanwhile, world 100m champion and Olympic silver medallist Yohan Blake has been lined up to run in the Diamond League meeting in Shanghai in May.

“Returning to China will bring good memories for me,” he said. “It was in China that I won my first major international medal as a junior athlete at the 2006 IAAF World Junior Championships. I am looking forward to the event.”
