Blast: ANP lawmaker’s house targeted

It is the second time MPA Yasmeen Zia’s house is targeted.

LAKKI MARWAT: The house of a provincial assembly member (MPA) was partially damaged by a bomb planted along the boundary wall of the building in Serai Naurang area. No casualties were reported. DSP Sanaullah said around 7:45am on Wednesday, a huge explosion was heard outside MPA Yasmeen Zia’s residence which pulled the main gate out of its hinges while cracks appeared in the boundary wall. According to the bomb disposal squad, two kilogrammes of explosives were used in the bomb. Zia’s husband is Advocate Sadrud Din Marwat, district president of the Awami National Party (ANP) in Mama Khel area. After the blast, heavy contingents of police rushed to the site and surrounded the MPA’s house. It was the second time MPA Yasmeen Zia’s house was targeted. On November 22, 2012 a bomb planted by the gate of her house went off in which a wall and gate were destroyed.
