RAWALPINDI:

A man died in the custody of the Kotli Satiyan on Tuesday night. Faraz was held by the police on charges of theft five days back.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Muhammad Irfan, a relative of the deceased, said Faraz died after being severely tortured.

He added that the police shifted the body to DHQ without informing his family and quickly left the hospital to avoid interacting with them.

When PS Kotli Satiyan Police Station House Officer Raja Qayyum was contacted, he refused to comment and quickly hung up his phone.

The relatives said doctors had yet to send the body for post-mortem and demanded that the chief justice take suo motu notice.
