Australia’s heavy innings-defeat in the second Test at the hands of India pushed them to consider making notable changes in the playing XI for the third Test, according to The Hindu.

The touring team’s coach Mickey Arthur said he hoped the final decision would benefit them and help them in the chase to draw the four-match series.

“I would be lying if I say that we are not contemplating changes,” said Arthur. “We do have to reassess the whole situation. We have got two Tests to stay in the series and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is big thing for us.

The coach insisted that his side was concentrating on doing well on the next match instead of dwelling on their defeats.

“As a team, we have to work really hard for a turnaround but morale is very good at the moment.”
