Police in Karachi have planned to establish watch towers in sensitive areas
KARACHI:
Police in Karachi have planned to establish watch towers in sensitive areas and police pickets at selective high-rise buildings in different parts of the city. Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari on Tuesday directed officers to keep terrorist activities and unrest in view to bring criminal elements in the grip of the law in order to restore peace in the city. He was chairing a meeting held at his office reviewing the law and order situation as well as a progress report on the Abbas Town blast. He said that senior police officers would monitor all security arrangements and zonal DIGs, district SSPs, SHOs and intelligence agencies would remain in contact with Pakistan Rangers in order to ensure joint action.
