Corporate governance: PTCL’s annual report earns SAFA award

The certificate awarding ceremony will be held in Colombo on March 22-23, 2013.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the largest information communication technology service provider in Pakistan, won distinction for the country, with the South Asian Federation of Accountants (Safa) conferring the ‘Best Presented Accounts Award 2011’ to the company, in the category of ‘Communication and Information Technology’. The award is presented to companies that exceed industry standards in quality and transparency of financial reporting parameters. SAFA, consisting of the institutes of chartered and management accountants in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) countries, holds these awards every year for different categories on the basis of evaluation of the published annual reports of companies across the region to improve transparency, accountability and governance in financial reporting.  “We are honoured to have our report recognised globally,” commented Farah Qamar, company secretary of PTCL. The certificate awarding ceremony will be held in Colombo on March 22-23, 2013 by the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Sri Lanka.

Wow..Its a good news to have an award coming to our country.In the days when there are always news of corruption blinking, PTCL is getting to success path consistently.I reckon that PTCL would soon become number one organization across the nation.Keep it up PTCL.

I would appreciate PTCL performance at all levels from employee to customer satisfaction.By all possible endeavors from employee care to public concern, PTCL has done its job tremendously and now winning award by SAFA is really impressive.In future, it is hoped to see more initiatives by PTCL.
