Syed Sardar Ahmed new leader of opposition in Sindh Assembly
Speaker Sindh Assembly issues notification after nomination request with signatures of 40 MPAs was submitted.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday secured the signatures of 40 Sindh assembly members to back the nomination of Syed Sardar Ahmed as the leader of the Opposition, Express News reported.
The nomination request was been submitted to the speaker of Sindh Assembly, who accepted it and issued a notification in this regard.
The MQM had last month nominated Syed Sardar Ahmed as the opposition leader after they quit the Pakistan Peoples Party led coalition government in Sindh. However, at the time, the government had not allotted them opposition seats.
The move comes after Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad accepted resignations of MQM ministers on Tuesday morning.
