Land grabbing case: Rawalpindi accountability court acquits Malik Riaz, son

National Accountability Bureau had filed an application calling for Malik Riaz's acquittal.

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Accountability Court acquitted business tycoon Malik Riaz and his son Ali Riaz in a land grabbing case on Saturday, Express News reported.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed an application in the accountability court calling for Riaz and his son to be acquitted in a fraud case regarding 1,401 kanals of land.

Accepting NAB’s application, the accountability court wrapped up the case and acquitted the two accused.

Riaz, speaking to the media outside the court, said that he has forgiven everyone involved in the case.

Earlier, Riaz and his accomplices were booked by the Anti-Corruption Establishment in two FIRs on the charge of acquiring 1,401 kanals of land near Rawat on fake and forged documents in 2009.
