District Coordination Officer Naeem Rauf has directed assistant commissioners and tehsil municipal officials to construct boundary walls around graveyards across the district. He has also directed them to make their crackdown on encroachments sterner.
The district commissioner officer was addressing a meeting at his office.
He said that proper water and lighting arrangements in the graveyards should be made so that visitors did not have to face any difficulties.
He directed the officials to identify the graveyards on government as well as private land. He sought the report in a week.
He also directed the officials to launch a crackdown against people who were living on land that had been sanctioned to construct a graveyard. He said the land must be recovered immediately.
