Threat averted: Bomb defused in Hangu

Police launched a search operation in the area, but no arrests were made till this report was filed.

HANGU: The bomb disposal squad (BDS) defused an explosive device planted by unidentified militants under a bridge in Sarokhel area of Hangu on Thursday. DPO Mian Saeed said locals told authorities at 11am about a sack placed beneath the bridge located on main GT Road. He said police rushed to the spot and called in the BDS immediately. Saeed added the target may have been convoys of Thal Scouts that use the bridge on their way to Kohat and Thal. Police launched a search operation in the area, but no arrests were made till this report was filed.
