PTI Elections: Unity Group takes top two slots

Official results will be announced on Thursday, an official of the commission said.

Unity Group’s Abdul Aleem Khan and Abdul Rasheed Bhatti have been elected president and general secretary, respectively, of the Lahore district chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, according to unofficial results.


Polling was held on Tuesday. Khan secured 826 votes, Ideology Group’s Mehmoodur Rasheed secured 626 votes and Tusnami Change Movement’s Farooq Amjad Mir received 290 votes.

Bhatti secured over 600 votes. Hafiz Farat Abbas of the Ideology Group got 500 votes and independent candidate Hammad Azhar secured over 350 votes.

Official results will be announced on Thursday, an official of the commission said.

Appointment

According to a notification issued by PTI’s central media office, Javed Badar has been appointed Spokesperson’s Coordinator for Electronic Media in the Information Wing.
