Raisani had resigned from the Senate in 2012 after he developed differences with a few federal ministers.
He had also ended his association with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the same year.
The former president of the PPP in Balochistan, Raisani had said on Tuesday that he was seriously considering joining the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N)
Many political leaders, including Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, had extended offers to him, but Raisani has remained indecisive, his aide told The Express Tribune. Raisani developed considerable clout in the province as the brother of the former chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisani and in his own right as a PPP leader there.
He refused to rejoin the PPP despite intense efforts by the party’s leadership to woo him back and consequently moved to Karachi from Quetta where he had lived for over 10 months in isolation.

He is not going abroad for medical chek up. I am really sad to see that. He is breaking this tradition in Pakistani politics. Please some body should go and tell him. He must go for health check up. If not now then when he will get the chance in life. Please remind him , Mr Qadri is going to Canada. Mr Ibad ,governor of Sindh is already on his way to Dubai and then to London. He is also going to apply to welfare dept for reinstatement of his monthly allowance. In Uk. Then every body knows Mr Mushraff is under constant medical supervision in Dubai and London since the time he left Pakistan. I miss all these great leaders
I am tired of using work "incompetent" - is there an end to this? Time for people to pick up arms and shoot the corrupt once and for all. That is unfortunately only possible solution.
