The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has constituted a separate cell dedicated to the verification of degrees of all parliamentarians.

The cell, which consists of senior officers from the commission, is tasked to verify lawmakers’ degrees and is the sole authority to be contacted for having their academic credentials attested.

The commission said that the degrees will be verified without any delay and will be returned immediately.

There are 200 degrees pending before the HEC that need to be verified, sources said.
