Nawaz, speaking to the media in Lahore on Sunday, suggested that it is possible that the two parties are 'fighting' because the provincial assemblies are about to be dissolved, and a caretaker chief minister is to be elected by the government -- the PPP -- and the opposition, now led by the MQM.
“Why did the MQM not leave the government three or four years back? Why do it 15 days prior [to dissolution of assemblies]?” he questioned.
Nawaz said that everyone knows what public opinion is about the MQM’s exit from the government and everything will be clear once the government and opposition sit together for talks on a caretaker setup.
The PML-N leader said that the PPP and the MQM distributed sweets and congratulated everyone when the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) was passed, but the PPP celebrated again when the ordinance was repealed.
“Which decision was right?” he asked.
The Sindh Peoples Local Government Act (SPLGA), which was passed by the Sindh Assembly on October 1, 2012, had been a major source of contention between the PPP-led coalition government and various nationalist groups in Sindh.
The ordinance was prepared after strong negotiations between the PPP and the MQM.
The government repealed the act on February 21, after which the MQM held protests and quit the coalition government to sit on opposition benches.

Sometimes I think that the entire tussle among PPP,PML-N and MQM is fake.
Ch Allah Dad: You may be right but then those memories of 90s when Nawaz Sharif's party took money from agencies to win elections, Nawaz Sharif's closure of operation against MQM in 93 when we were really close to getting rid of them, attacking the country's premier court, running away after an agreement with Musharraf and then backstabbing other parties with whom he had agreed earlier to not take part in elections come to haunt me. Any sane man with an iota of sense wouldn't agree with what you are trying to say.

this guy is part of all this drama. he have done nothing for the nation even after getting a mandate which no other party got. and yeah please dont mention the nuclear tests he has nothing to do with it. its our Army and they take their own decisions. what have they done as opposition forget about for how long they were in govt or whatever??

To avoid future fake wars and blackmailing of smaller parties, we must elect PML(N) with clear majority. Please do not waste your vote on other parties, if you don't like fake wars and blackmailing.

Could be fake? Come on Mian Sb, It is indeed fake,PPP cancels local govt ordinance and send it to MQM governor for signing,he conveniently leaves for Dubai/London allowing acting PPP governor to sign the cancellation.
Both PPP & MQM are trying to fool public just for the sake of winning votes in next elections.Is general public really that stupid that it believes all these gimmicks,only next elections results will be able to answer that..
Collation of PPP and MQM was non realistic and far from reality and so broke down. Vote bank of both parties is linguistic based and highly centripetal in their customs, traditions and living patterns but opposite in comparison. Urdu speaking communities claim ownership of Karachi which is reducing with mass urbanization and feels they have been deprive of resources by sindhis with more representation and bulk supply of low quality educational platform held in interior Sind areas giving them inflated degrees.For them an urban is matter of pride and in contrary Sindhies claims Karachi their own part.In past few decade mass urbanization and acquisition of quality education from Karachi and abroad has changed mindset of Sindhies seeking more prominent role in Karachi. Local governmental abolishment takes urban areas to the dark similar to interior and urban representation have reduced. Differences will augment in coming days
Ordainance can be re enacted again after the elections.Local bodies elections are not being held soon so it does not matter at this moment.What matters at this stage is the interim Govt of choice bettwen the two good colalition parteners which MQM and PPP have proven to be.So good game and nice nura kushti. It is so obvious, but so waht?
