Target killings: Local PML-N leader gunned down in Karachi

A local leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was killed by armed men in a targeted attack in Karachi on Friday.


Maqsood Ahmed Shah was gunned down in North Karachi within the limits of Khawaja Ajmair police station. Station House Officer (SHO) Chaudhry Mohammad Afzal said Shah was returning home after offering prayers at a mosque when two armed men on a motorcycle approached and shot him multiple times. PML-N leader Saleem Zia told The Express Tribune that he was the party’s district central vice president. He condemned the murder and demanded the arrest of the assailants.

Separately, two police officers were also killed in targeted attacks.

Police constable Nadeem Baloch was shot dead in Manghopir. SHO Ashfaq Baloch said Baloch was on his way home from the police station when he came under attack.

Similarly, police officer Akhtar Pir Afzal was killed near Zia Mor in SITE.
