Tackling dengue: KMC’s fumigation drive underway

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation launched a fumigation drive in the city on Friday.


The drive, scheduled to cover 10 towns in the city till March 5, was successfully completed in Jamshed Town on Friday

According to a schedule issued by the KMC, the drive would take place in Keamari today, and then move onto Baldia Town on February 25, Gulshan-e-Iqbal on February 26, Liaquatabad on February 27, North Karachi on February 28, Malir on March 1, Shah Faisal Town on March 2, Gadap on March 4 and Orangi Town on March 5.

Municipal authorities would spray the areas during the evening, and an officer would be deployed to supervise the work of the fumigation staff.

KMC’s municipal services department requested residents to cooperate with spray teams, to ensure that mosquitoes and other bacteria could be effectively eliminated.
