Politicians, human rights groups and members of the civil society have been invited to join the peace march, which will set out for Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum from city courts.
The announcement to hold the march came after a meeting between members of Supreme Court Bar Association, Sindh Bar Council, SHC Bar Association, Karachi Bar Association and Malir Bar Association at the SHC cafeteria on Thursday.
During the meeting, the president of SHC Bar Association, Mustufa Lakhani, pointed out a number of professionals, including lawyers, doctors, traders and political activists were being targeted in Karachi every day.The lawyers present at the meeting also condemned the inability of the law enforcement agencies to bring the situation under control. The lawyers have also decided to hold a two-day conference, ‘Karachi Peace Conference’, in the Karachi Arts Council from March 2.
