Condemnation: Fazl expresses solidarity with Hazara community
Says voice needs to be raised against such attacks on innocent people.
DERA ISMAIL KHAN:
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman expressed solidarity on Monday with the Shia Hazara community of Balochistan and commented “We are with them in their mourning and their protest.
This kind of [mourning] is not only one community’s issue but it is on a national level.” He was talking to the media at the funeral prayers of late Qari Muhammad Nawaz.
Fazl said he had directed JUI-F leaders in Balochistan to be in contact with the Hazara community. He added that there was need for a joint strategy to take action against the culprits and to uncover the conspiracy behind such incidents.
“We are ready to become a part of such joint strategy. Whoever is involved in it, we have to become one voice against it.”
While talking about his recent visit to Doha, Qatar, Fazl there was no agenda and the media had just wasted everyone’s time.
Regarding the Taliban offer of negotiations, the JUI-F chief said they considered it a positive development.
“The JUI-F’s policy is clear: we support every step towards peace and do not support any step towards war.”
