Tennis: Kaleem reaches under-14 final

In boys under-14 event, top seed Syed Nofil Kaleem defeated Huzaifa Abdul Rehman 6-2, 6-0 in the semi-final.

KARACHI: Mohammad Mudassir, Saad Zubair, Mian Bilal and Malik Hamza cruised into the semi-finals of the Khudadad National Junior Ranking Tennis Championship in Islamabad yesterday. Mudasir overcame Zaid Mujahid 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, while Zubair defeated Muhammad Ahmed 6-4, 6-4. Bilal outplayed Abdal Haider 6-2, 6-7,6-1 and Malik battled with Mohammad Muzamil 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 in the quarter-finals. In another match, Bilal and Mudassir won the boys under-18 doubles semi-final against Abdal Haider and Zaid Mujahid 7-6(3), 6-1. Meanwhile, in the boys under-14 event, top seed Syed Nofil Kaleem defeated Huzaifa Abdul Rehman 6-2, 6-0 in the semi-final. He will play Mohammad Muzammil today, who outplayed Talha Bin Asif 7-5, 6-1 to reach the final.
