MANDI BAHAUDDIN: A couple was killed on Monday allegedly by the woman’s family for marrying without her family’s approval. They also killed the man’s mother. The assailants then decapitated the man. Police said Liaquat Ali of the Jaisak village had married Iqra a few months ago without the consent of her family. Last week, the two families appeared to have settled the matter. On Sunday, some men broke into Ali’s home and shot at them, killing him, his mother and Iqra on the spot. The assailants later cut off Ali’s head. Some neighbours informed the police. The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination. Civil Lines police have registered a case on the complaint of one of Ali’s relatives.
