Epidemic: 8 more hospitalised with measles

According to Health Department statistics, so far 14 children have succumbed to measles this year.

Epidemic: 8 more hospitalised with measles

GUJRANWALA: Eight children were brought to Civil Hospital on Sunday with measles. They were identified as Abdullah, Ahmed, Amna, Amna Ahmed, Iman Fatima, Maria, Iman Majid and Saira Amjad. According to Health Department statistics, so far 14 children have succumbed to measles this year. Several children have been referred to hospitals in Lahore. Health Department officials say that health workers have been visiting the areas from where cases have been reported to give anti-measles vaccination to the children. These areas are: Nowshera Sansi, Nowshera Road, Francisabad, Garjhakh, Dhalay, Khayali Shahpur, Sui Gas, Ferozewala, Chacharwali, Rahwali, Mughal Chowk, Mandiala Tigah and Liaquatabad.
