Perhaps, as a result of this, and due to his resentment of the culture of sifarish, he was recently denied promotion, and young doctors who are easily 20 years his junior with little professional experience were promoted in his place, from Grade 18 right into Grade 20. In addition, many senior officers are eagerly waiting for his retirement so they can push their sons up through the hierarchy.
I hope that we learn, sooner or later, to take care of those few valued civil servants who work every day to change people’s lives. Heroes are born in every nation; successful nations know how to recognise them.
