Hatf II - with a range of 180 km - can carry nuclear as well as conventional warheads with high accuracy.
The test comes a few days after the missile test of Hatf-IX (NASR).
According to the ISPR, the weapon system with its varied manoeuvrability options provides an operational level capability to Pakistan’s Strategic Forces.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf congratulated the scientists and engineers involved in the project.
The test was witnessed by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General (retd) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Commander Army Strategic forces Command, Lieutenant General Tariq Nadeem Gilani, senior officers from the strategic forces and scientists and engineers of strategic organizations.

@usmanyy: Tactical or strategic makes no difference. The use of nukes would bring an overwhelming second strike from India.
@concerned: Don't you worry it will be shot down before it gets across and then it's overwhelming payback..
Pakistan is growing at 3%, while its population is growing at 2. Adjust inflation, you will find the economy stagnant, job creation not happening.
Asian Development Bank estimates, during the past decade poverty has been on the increase and has risen to 43%!
If somebody wants to tell me India is not much different, I would like to point to them the UN MDG report, which says India is the ONLY country in South Asia to meet its target and poverty was expected to drop to 22% in 2015. WB data sheet too reflects this.
Bottom line: Pakistan is not growing, poverty in increasing, spending on weapons also is. India is growing, poverty is decreasing, spending on weapons is commensurate with the size of the GDP(2.5% of GDP).

Dear @Concerned. Thank you for confirming that Pakistan lives by the "we will eat grass but will get the nuclear bomb" policy. Despite this and the frequent threats to use the bomb on India, we will still give you water and food. We will also make sure the bomb will never leave it's base. We wish we could also give you education, but alas, we are kuffars. Thank you.
The Strategic Forces Command is requested to invite civilians the next time it decides to launch one of its hi-speed missiles. The civilians will share the joy in witnessing such an event and assuredly will heartily felicitate all those involved. Be rest assured, the civilians will pay for the refreshments they consume also strictly observing the 'no smoking' rule. Thanking you in anticipation. The Skunk. Salams for 2013
PS: No politicians, please.
I don't know wether to be glad or sad. Its good news for the army that they are growing powerful but the fact is we don't want our money to be spent on destruction. These missiles and nuclear bombs can never destroy nation but the lack of education. Education is so important that Mohammad P.B.U.H released captured war criminals for teaching atleast one student. Please realize this and support education and peace. No more war and destruction. All that we have is enough for our rival indian army for the next 100 years, this is enough that we have most successful Missile technology and most skilled PAF fighters.
aj,
180 km.. for tactical usage rendering cold doctrine a hot mess. do research before lol-ing.
@Vikas: But it does the job. Unlike failed Indian missiles ( made in Russia )
only 180km..lol
Abdali is an indigenous SUPARCO product..Not a foreign import.This missile has a modified nose cone to reduce Drag..Mid-body wings have been removed as there were in older version of this missile..Instead the missile is Probably controlled by internal gimball mounted shifting weights and stabilized by large fins at the bottom. This an all other Pakistani missile projects are "Ongoing" projects so on contrary to popular belief Pakistan isn't breaking the bank on these tests.
@galib:
No you cant eat it..But this thing will save you from annihilation and you will another day to find food...
@Mj: OK. Why is it that only defense spending is needless in from of you. All the other miss use of funds by politicians don't matter? All the luxury vehicles for people who serve us on government payroll, all the lavish spending by this country's elite while the next door neighbors starve.. But yea, the defense spending needs to be cut! By the way, it is not the additional expense to test the missile systems, it is part of the annual defense budget whether you test them or not.
vikas, as opposed to indian defense hardware which of course is all designed, manufactured in the back of a bangalore BPO? come on yaar, whats the point of trolling?
@Zaid:
I am as much a Pakistani as you are. Being critical of needless spending and chest thumping does not make me unpatriotic.
@Vikas: If that makes you feel less frightened! Sleep well... :p
Whats wrong with that . Any one can build neuclear bombs any one can conduct a neuclear test.
this is not abdali man! in picture this is an old Ghaznvi
@MJ, Vikas, hahaha, feel the heat men. don't get angry. you can not digest this. chill man chill. First of all build toilets for more than 40 per cent of your population in your country, Mahabharat, then try to build some missiles.
RAW involved
@Vikas
But hits its target. That''s all what matters. No one will live to ponder the make of missile !!!
BTW it is not made in China, keep dreaming & living in Bollywood fantasy !!!!
Made in China, Painted in Pakistan.
Abdali was a winner in 3rd battle of Panipat and facilitated the entry of foreigner in India . We Indian forget that history and accepted all muslims as our brother . Now Pakistan once again digging the history by giving a name to the missile . Her intention seems to be clearly anti Indian by this move . Any way now we are capable to take revange of the defeat that we deliberatly tried to forget .
At this point of time, when Pakistan is finding hard to cope with nefarious destabilizing elements within its own borders, it is unnecessary to spend money on nuclear missiles.
Hurrah! Hope Pakistan feels even more secure. As the Pakistani rupee heads towards Rs 200 per dollar, it must become even cheaper to conduct more tests.
"President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf congratulated the scientists and engineers involved in the project."
They forgot to thank the North Koreans...
@galib: no u r porpagating
@galib: which other country eats their weapons? always think small
No missile of ANY country feed her peoples so why this stupid question is being asked here
@galib: Dear, We are ready to remain hungry to move ahead with increase in our defensive capability. Dont worry Indians about our hunger, You can eat it when it will arrive on the other side of the border
Great news. Now Taliban run...run...run more than 180 km. ..
Kudos
i am hungry, please help, is it possible to eat this thing. :(((.
