One dead, two injured in traffic collision involving US diplomat's car

Police have impounded the vehicle and registered a case under section 302.

ISLAMABAD: A Capital Development Authority (CDA) employee died and another was injured in a traffic collision in Islamabad late on Thursday, Express News reported.

A sports utility vehicle (SUV) belonging to the US embassy, bearing number plate ICT NK 927, collided with a motorcycle bearing two passengers in the capital. As a result, the men on the bike and the driver of the car sustained injuries.

The injured were shifted to Polyclinic hospital for treatment where one of the bike riders passed away. The other remains under treatment. The driver of the car was shifted to a private hospital for treatment.

Police officials identified the car's driver as Lupersio Perez who is registered with the government as a diplomat, working as an attache at the US embassy.

A case has been registered under section 302 against the US embassy official, while his car has been impounded.

A case has been registered

Nothing is going to happen, he's a diplomat and hence will claim immunity. Although an apology and some compensation would go a long way.

Nothing will happen to US diplomats , we know what has happened with RAYMOND DAVIS case...
