The test fire was conducted with successive launches of two missiles from a state of the art multi-tube launcher. NASR, with a range of 60km, and in-flight manoeuvre capability can carry nuclear warheads of appropriate yield, with high accuracy, said the press release.
NASR has also been specially designed to defeat all known Anti-Tactical Missile Defence Systems.
The test was witnessed by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General (Retired) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Chairman NESCOM Muhammad Irfan Burney, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command Lieutenant General Tariq Nadeem Gilani, senior officers from the armed forces and scientists and engineers of strategic organisations.

Hey Vinod.. Let me correct you. Yes, Pakistan has been doing it successfully and Pakistan does conduct successful experiment because its scientists are so professional and dedicated that no other country stand before them. The technology which Pakistan has, is flawless and cutting edge. What you said in your comment above reflects your rage and jealousy. If you are mature then think from a neutral point of view and consider the fact. If you are a folly as you seem to be then keep thinking the way you do.
It is the job of political government @Kevin:
@Kevin: @AA: AOA. My dear y to blame Armed forces for bad goverence of political elite. Get the reward of democracy. Forces are doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Making of nuclear bomb is not enough if u do not have any credible means of dilvery, so we need them to have sure means.
@Vinod: dream on
@indian: dream on
Well to all the critics if we did not have a strong military/armed forces Pakistani would be another Palestine and Syria. Whenever you talk to any foreigner they shudder that Pakistan is a nuclear power. There are too many foreign bullies out there so this shuts them up.
@Vikas: I smell smoke! ha ha ha ha ha!
@Jat: here is the research bajaur ops-2008 swat ops-2009 buner ops-2009 dir ops-2009 mohmand ops-2010 SWA ops-2009 Orakzai ops-2011 NWA ops-awaiting concensus by APC.all these ops were successful
need more
Pakistan has every right to test missiles or spend as much as it wants on its perceived national security needs. In this respect, negative comments from Indian posters are misplaced. As a matter of fact, Indians should be happy that Pakistan is spending huge sums on its military since such priorities will only keep Pakistan's economy in bad shape. The real worry for the Indians should be a geo-politically aggressive and confrontational Pakistan with a rich and growing economy that is coupled with a growing offensive military power.
@Jat: well here is some research for your short memory: 2008-pak military oust TTP from Bajaur agency. TTP declared bajaur as "islamic emirates of Bajaur" 2009- pak army oust TTP from Swat. 2009-pak military clears Dir Ditrict bordering swat 2009-pak military clears Buner district 2010-pak military clears Mohmand Agency 2010-TTP on the run from SWA after military ops.imran khan claimed no military can win in waziristan, pak army proves otherwise. TTP regroup in NWA. 2011-Military starts Orakzai agency ops which is still continuing.90% area is cleared. i know this because i belong to orakzai agency. NWA ops- military still waiting for a green signal from govt. Zardari has clearly stated that no military ops if no concensus. defensive miliatry will always bear more loss, that is what is happening now.
i have respect for my military having sacrificed more than 4000 soldiers to the delight of indians and some traitors. but i cannot ignore what sacrifice they are still giving.
but i guess you don't care even after getting the facts.
now you need to do some research to prove me otherwise or else accept it and keep shut.
@Butt: whenever your democratic govt will give a green light. remember swat and SWA ops
For every new missile that Pakistan tests, India must respond with another Free Trade Agreement with another Top trading country!! Today India has agreements in place with Japan, SE Asia, EU, Australia, etc.... These are our missiles...!
Ha, listen to all these squealing Indian trolls, you can almost hear their quivering scared voices! They think that they can wipe out Pakistan with their atom bombs, and where do think the radiation from their nuclear attacks will go? That's right, back to India.
In any case, it is good to be under-estimated by your enemies.
@janaan: military is doing its job of preparing for defense
Pakistan military does every kind of job; except for defending Pakistan. Do a little research; you don't have to advertise your ignorance.
I am sure things would be way better under occupation. ( really, they would be) so decide!
@Vikas: Yo, I guess that would be for us to know and you to find out! perhaps , call our bluff or is that too risky? On a side note, I hope you dont own any ipad or iphones etc! Adios& keep up with your national hobby.
@janaan: 'military is doing its job of preparing for defense.' So when are they firing it on TTP?
to all pesimists:
at least have the courage of appreciating what your armed forces are doing. don't blame military for its non response on talibans. the military has said it several times, they are ready to go in and defeat TTP only if govt gives the green light.
on the Nasr technology, it is unique in its concepts which have taken indian military strategists by surprise. their Cold start doctrine and doctrine of preemption has taken a hit with this weapon and capability. its intended for those army concentrations in big number, so not range but response time matters and that is where NASR comes in.
Has anybody lately checked Gen Kayyani's wiki page??? check out the Urdu script- it's hacked. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AshfaqParvezKayani
@AA: such a thoughtful advice, but this advice is for your democratic govt and not military. military is doing its job of preparing for defense, unless you want that not to happen.
Vikas - when was the last time you had a KitKat? dont tell us you have them in your secular land....and if not ask US.
@indian: i think that should be the hanging of convicted indian terrorist/bomber and spy sarabjit singh.
Men at their best..once again proved by Pakistan Army
after reading the comments..a question is arising in my mind that why Indians are too much interested in Pakistan's missile test..in frustration they are giving one statement and then other...
Tactical nukes where an invention of the American and Soviet military who believed that a graduated nuclear exchange was plausible rather than all out nuclear exchange -- that logic is largely discounted by many who believe that use of a nuke (regardless of size) had strategic ramifications which would make use of larger nukes inevitable. Given the animosity between India/Pakistan combined with the close proximity which makes response times critical the use of any nuke would likely result in all out nuclear exchange. India and Pakistan are both 3'rd World countries that can ill afford wasting limited resources on nukes (big or small) which will never be used, are expensive to make and maintain. Lastly - some NATO members have reached the conclusion that tactical nukes are more a liability than a benefit - the downside of theft/misuse creates risk that outweigh any possible benefit - something both India and Pakistan should consider.
All Pakistanis living within a 100 km of the border should be shivering with fear and not boasting. Reason ? Read latest policy papers of Pakistan Army and the Think-tanks - these missiles have been designed to be specifically used inside Pakistan borders against advancing Indian Army armored columns.
So all you people are considered to be expendable by your own army. They will nuke you, to protect their own turf; their DHAs and bakeries.
Be afraid; be very afraid.
@Haris Chaudhry: "Finally…Pakistan joins the ranks of the first world countries ! A great achievement by our scientists and military which will use these rockets to target land mafia, intercept drone mid-air, take out TTP warriors and deliver rations cost effectively and quickly to our jawans on the height of Siachen."
I understand your astire and agree with it. fyi: Pakistani soldiers are not sitting in Siachen which is occupied 100% by India. They are n the gyari sector. Still your overall intent is accurate and I agree with it.
@Ayaz: This missile is too short range. We need to put more investment into intercontinental ballistic missiles with MIRV capability.
The day you start developing an ICBM,you will find Israel hounding you.......
ICBM's are for big players,you cannot burn your fingers trying to get something which is way beyng your capacity....Besides,India's ICBM's are meant for China,not for their pawns....
@Singh
they will be tipped with tactical nukes..
@Singh: Read my previous comments. They may have to fire this missile well within their own territory on advancing columns of the Indian army.
@Singh you need to do bit more study on the tactical nuclear weapons. These are plotunium based low yield nuclear warheads, and are used to target huge amount of miltary standing at your border
How any one can install nuke on missile that have only 37.28 mile range? Every one know the fall out factor. Do Pakistani scientist master the art of controlled fall out ? If they did then they are most advance in this field than any other nation. Any way it is good job to test & master the usefulness of any technology. ET...........
This missile is too short range. We need to put more investment into intercontinental ballistic missiles with MIRV capability.
Mashallah...Zabardast
@ Ali & Billo Bhaya ,,, Poor AA,, Internal Security is whoz responsibility It would hv been appreciated If you had tried to do little research before pasting your comments here :( well let me do this for you, Its the responsibility of your beloved Rehman Malik and Internal Ministry,,,And Internal Ministry is as much interested in restoring peace & law and order situation as the ppl who have selected such lot to rule the country,, :( Billo Bhaya,, What according you to hv been more important to invest in with dis money,,Construction of an other Mega Structure by sum politician or transforming of it into the Swiss Bank...
But I tell you before, My school in Okara is already damaged and have broken walls and window so this experiment cant do more damage to my school
@Candid 1:
not when enemy retaliation can wipe you off the map
@AA:
Without NASR, or as you say these fire-crackers, you wouldn't really exist on the face of the earth.
Self defense is as important as economic prosperity.

@Vinod: congrats for saying something new :P
@FingerPointer: Jericho 3 is an Inter Contenential Balistic Missile (ICBM) not a cruise missile
I never heard that pakistan done a failed missile test of any, though many countries like US,India,Russia could not make a 100% sucess in missile test.So it itself prove that these missiles are not from pakistan but CHINESE, where pakistan do painting job and test flight. These missiles are already tested long before in china where pakistan job is to import it, paint it and make a test on a suitable date.No surprise....
Range 60KM? Can't we use it against Taliban instead of surrendering to them? What use is this expensive play toy if we are still defeated by a few thousand lightly armed Taliban? We are wasting money in the wrong area.
@AA: Dear Men in Boots.........without socks(metaphorical for the material and spiritual poverty of Pakistani society!!!
While nuclear deterrence has been foisted upon Pakistan due to India's belligerent nuclear weapons program, Pakistan sholuld not neglect its conventional defensive capability, as nuclear retaliation cannot be a response to each and every threat emanating from India. Pakistan needs to be pro-active in its defense strategy, and not be seduced into the doctrine of defensive warfare, as attack is the best form of defense.
Dear indian friends .. why so much hate ...oh and Pakistan is ok and will be with the will of Allah SWT. Suggest you stop the negativity and the obsession with Pakistan
That photo handout shows an Israeli Jericho 3 cruise missile.
Cold start doctorine is designed for the same reason. .. for which Pakistanwill need to keep on test firing these new missiles ... The moment Pakistan fires a test missile its USD 100,000 ... minus from its hard currency bounty ... A time will come that Pakistan will test fire HAFT-IIIXXXXXX... and that will be last dollar in the coffin .... Then the same missile will be the reason for Pakistan to implode ... No wonder all MLA/MNC's and all parlamenterians dont pay tax in Pakistan ....They exactly know where that money will go .... UP in smokes ...
Pakistan Army is doing good in with short resources of budget as compared with India and your politicians (which did you select with fake voting) are not doing with lot of resources of budget against their own interest to block inside terrorism (batha Khuri etc). why do you guys always make blame game with your Indians fellows instead of appreciation Pakistan army?? First make change with this upcoming Elections and must cast your vote if you want to change in your region. Those who was making wrong comments against Pak Army and China Army. are you Pakistani or Indians :) because making university or other institution in Pakistan for you guys, is their any country whose army is doing that job, Are you guys drunk?
For Indians, who are felling slap on their faces please bear it my dears, It is our small love for you guys. Don't jealous with China and Pakistan Friendship. We don't want to give you bigger surprises right now ;) so cheers up.
@Hussain:
"Congrats PAK Jawans and Scientists behind this."
Pak Jawans are behind the test firing of a missile? Strange!
can anyone tell me that how many children could hv educated with the money spent on this weapon.how many children would hv been vaccinated with money spent on this weapon.
Well done Pakistan :)
This is a shoot and scoot nuclear missile which can be fired upon area of operation of a Divisional or Corps level attack but the former Indian Air Chief had made a categorical statement statement that such a nuclear attack even at this level would invite a massive response from India and though he didn't name the cities but analysts presume that they might be Lahore and Karachi. Defence analysts had also surmised that Pakistan is at a distinct disadvantage of producing this weopon system which it can't use in any war with its adversary but has spent billions of dollars on the same.
Keep it up Pakistan - BRAVO
Yet another reason to term Pakistan a ''Security/Defense State'' Taliban,Army,Corrupt politicians,Feudalism,Intolerance,Sectarian violence..Pakistan has a long & unending list of problems which never seem to go away..
Excellent! Bye bye to india's cold start doctrine!
wao pakistan should test more missile until get collapsed by the way there is another hit news by ET "First in history: Rupee weakens to 100 against dollar "
Now Indians will create a buffer zone of 61 KM on border.
Waste of resources instead we should be building dams, schools and universities instead of these toys we have wrong priorities
good..
For what they are testing misles if the can not or will not eliminate terrorists from the land.Isn't it a big slap on the face of poor volk which hopelesly looking at its armed forces to get the security of life.If poor have no bread to eat they should eat cake.That is the answer ISPR giving to this nation.Conducting tests at this stage is puting salt on injuries.
response to GURU hanging???
What good are these external defenses when the country is being eaten away from the inside by Taliban, their sympathizers and the barbarians killing various religious minorities?
Dear Men in Boots,
Enough is enough. For God sake, focus on internal threats. This nation is starving, the whole country, its economical hubs, small cities all are in the hands extortionists, land grabbers and terrorists. The economy is on the verge of collapse but you.....? you are busy in making yourself happy to see fire crackers building and shooting up in the sky. Please stop investing my money on the fire crackers. You already made the nuclear bomb. Isn't it enough for deterrance? I see you taking me on the path which USSR and North Korea took. Without economic prosperity and internal security, these missiles and bombs wont save this nation. And remember, the more you pile it up the more you need more of my money to hold them with strict security. Why should I be paying my money for the whole of my life for something I don't get the benefit of. I mean why...why I should be paying for your adventures
Finally...Pakistan joins the ranks of the first world countries ! A great achievement by our scientists and military which will use these rockets to target land mafia, intercept drone mid-air, take out TTP warriors and deliver rations cost effectively and quickly to our jawans on the height of Siachen.
With some modifications, it can also assist in sending urgent parcels from islamabad to Karachi for the business community (in 23 minutes) and in transferring Nato supplies from Karachi to Kabul !
Glory days for a progressive nation !
Hopefully this is not "Made in China" and painted in Pakistan.
Mubarak ho! Congratulations! The only two institutions that are working to keep Pakistan alive and kicking.......the Supreme Court and the Pakistan armed forces.
Let us see if NASR can emasculate the TTP and the terrorism in Karachi? Scare the pants off the 'shills and shams' in the parliament and intimidate the 'rabble rousing politicians' into 'giving in' more than what is being 'taken out.'
Salams 2013
There goes another million dollars of tax-payers money. "What ho!! Good shot there!!!" say the assembled VIPs.
Congrats PAK Jawans and Scientists behind this.
