Brief-Sarah: Girl killed by cousins for honour

The body, which was for an autopsy, has been handed over to family.

BAHAWALPUR: A 20-year-old female was stabbed to death, allegedly by her cousins in the name of honour on Saturday, at Soukatabad, Ahmedpur.

Ahmedpur City Police Station Station House Officer Rana Hakim told the Express Tribune that Dilshad Bibi, who had been married to Muhammad Sabir for eight months, had allegedly eloped with Altaf, she returned home 20 days later on Friday.

Hakim said that upon Dilshad’s return, her cousins Ameen, Naveed and Abid had brutally stabbed her and fled.

He said the police had registered an FIR 302-PPC against Ameen, Naveed and Abid and were looking for them.

He said the body which was taken to the Ahmedpur Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for an autopsy had been later handed over to her family.
