HARIPUR: A woman was allegedly murdered over a marriage dispute on Friday. Police quoted Parveen Bibi as saying that on Thursday, she went to a neighbour’s house, leaving behind her daughter Yasmeen Bibi, 21, alone at home. However, when she returned, the main gate was locked and when she managed to break in, she saw Yasmeen injured and bleeding from the neck. Parveen said she saw Waqas escape the house carrying a dagger. Yasmeen was taken to Women and Children Hospital where she died. The complainant said that Waqas had proposed Yasmeen and sent his parents to her house. However, when she turned down the proposal, he got infuriated and murdered her.  The complainant said that the police has taken Yasmeen’s cell phone that has a text message from Waqas, saying that he will commit suicide after murdering her. However, no arrest was made till the filing of this report. A doctor said the jugular vein of the victim was split, that caused the death.
