FAISALABAD: The Anti Corruption Establishment had started an investigation in to the 4,252 bags of Food Department wheat that had gone missing from an warehouse a few days ago, Assistant Director Zahid Nizami told The Express Tribune on Thursday. The unauthorised warehouse has been sealed, he said.

Nizami said that initial inquiry had revealed that the warehouse had been set up at a factory.

He said the suspect officers had set up the warehouse at a flourmill on Jhumra Road, where they had been storing huge quantity of wheat illegally.

The wheat, he said, was instead supposed to be kept at the Department’s Darul Ehsan warehouse. The complaint has been filed by the district food controller.
