The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is likely to join hands with Minhajul Quran International chief Dr Tahirul Qadri to form a grand alliance against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Punjab, for the upcoming general elections.
A high level delegation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), led by Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Javed Hashmi, met Minhajul Quran International (MQI) Dr Tahirul Qadri on Wednesday, in this regard, The Express Tribune has learnt.
In a joint press conference issued after the three-hour long meeting, both Qadri and the PTI leaders supported each other’s call for the reconstitution of the election commission and vowed to jointly rid the country of the ‘corrupt’ and ‘cruel’ political system.
Qadri’s younger son Dr Hussain Mohayuddin, while exclusively talking to The Express Tribune, confirmed that the MQI would form a political alliance with the PTI in the future. He also said that the MQI’s political wing, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), would contest the upcoming general elections in alliance with other political parties, including the PTI.
Asked either PAT would contest the elections as part of a grand alliance or on seat adjustment with other parties, Mohayuddin said that constituency matters, such as seats adjustment, campaign, symbol and alliance, would be discussed in their second meeting.
The PAT has also already shown interest in contesting the elections in alliance with the PML-Quaid and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Punjab.
PTI’s strategy
According to senior leaders of the PTI, the party plans on holding consultations on all important issues – such as seat adjustment, the ECP and the president’s dual office – with all political and religious parties that are not of Parliament. The meeting held with Dr Qadri was part of this effort.
The high-level delegation, which besides Mehmood and Hashmi includes Dr Arif Alvi and Ijaz Chaudhary, was constituted to execute this task prior to the upcoming general elections.
Besides the MQI, the party has also held meetings with Jamait Islami in the first phase.
In next phase, the PTI delegation will hold talks with all political and regional political parties in Sindh and Balochistan, and will submit a report to its political strategy committee (PSC) for a final decision.
PTI Central information secretary Shafqat Mehmood confirmed that talks with all political parties would be completed within a month. (With additional reporting by Anwer Sumra in Lahore)

Criticism being carried out by some concerned quarters is highly unjustified. We are only one and half month away from the end of the mandate of the existing regim that is on the verge of transparent transition.,from one democratic government to the other first time in the history of pakistan. Also, strict legal action has been taken against present members of the national Assembly. for keeping dual nationality and fabricated education certificates. dependable security at polling boths would have provided.Despite of all some parties are not satisfied so worry. PTI must keep away from alliance with Dr.Qadri. It will lead to spoil PTI image in the minds majority of people who know the political history of PAT and Dr.Qadri. It is as "multiplication of a million with zero" which nullifies the effect of a million..PTI is going to lose its own credibility if not refrains form Dr.Qadri.. .
So what i think its high time confused desis make up their mind whether they are pro or anti status quo. For me, ppp n pmln are status wuo, n im with all those who are against them.....

As for being clean, even the high and mighty IK perched on the high horse morality is not clean - financially or morally. Show us proof that the PML-N leadership does not pay its taxes honestly and I'll show you with evidence that IK never paid a single dime in tax from 1971 until 2002. The Sharif Family defaulted on their industrial loans and their Itefaq Foundry went into receivership and now its up to the banks who extended such loans to liquidate these assets and recover their principal and mark-ups outstanding.

If indeed all the schemes in Punjab are fraud (as perceived by followers of Deen-e-Imrani Cult), PML-N would pay the price at the hands of its electorates come elections time; where is the problem? After all, one can't just expect to become an undisputed leader of the world and outer universe on the mere basis of winning a world cup, making a hospital and university (From charity and government donated real estate).

Did they give the accounts of billions received from the people under Qarz Utharo awer Malk Sawanro Scheme in their(1997-99) second tenure of government?.Do they pay their taxes honestly.Why don,t they defaulted billions of rupees of Bank loans despite earning hefty amounts of profits from their industrial and business enterprises?Making alliance or seat to seat adjustment with Pakistan Awami Tehrik is the democratic right of PTI.
Pakistan should try to oust the family politics i.e. Shareefs and Zardaris and for that anyone aligning with controversial figure such as TUQ is totally understandable.

The problem is that Nawaz league is more corrupt and incompetent than PPP. See what Nawaz league is doing in Punjab. Look at all the fraud schemes such as Sasti Roti, Pili Taxi, Danish school, Asiana scheme, laptop and what not ....................

So PTI is fighting elections in Punjab along with the Alliance with MQM and PAT !!!!. What about PPPP, ANP and other parties??. PMLN have showed some performance but PTI is against them? I have been told by my friends in higher echelons of PTI that a decision have been made to bring Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Javed Hashmi and all heavy weights to contest from Upper Punjab so to give cushion and support to PPP in South Punjab and to weaken PMLN in Upper Punjab but i think PTI and all other parties are going down the drain against PMLN.
