“It is important that Afghans develop skills that allow them to earn money for their families and educate their children,” said the US Embassy’s refugee coordinator in a statement issued on Wednesday. “The US government offers a variety of training programmes that help refugees become self-sufficient during their stay in Pakistan and continue to support them when they return to Afghanistan,” he said. In 2012, the US government provided over $2.5 million to 17 skills training centres in different refugee areas in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
