According to sources, former ambassador Asif Ezdi filed a reference against the dual national members of the provincial assembly.
The commission will discuss the reference on February 7.
The MPAs who have been served notices include Rana Babar Hussain, Syed Raza Ali Gilani, Pir Kashif Ali Chisti and Raja Sahukat Aziz Bhatti.
The ECP also issued notices to two former MPAs.
Earlier, former MNA Shahnaz Sheikh submitted a list of 20 MNAs with dual nationality to the Supreme Court.

On 13-02-13, Supreme Court of Pakistan stated that ALL citizens who have taken Oath and Allegiance to the Queen QEII, are regarded as trying to sabotage Pakistan, therefore, I urge Prime Minister of UK who represents Her Majesty Government and all those citizens who have taken oath and allegiance to the Queen Elizabeth II, to force their Governments and ensure that all these Commonwealth countries including UK where the QE is the head of State must stop ALL AID and TRADE with Pakistan immediately.
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui Rather than banning dual national from contesting elections, people who are making properties outside Pakistan should be banned from contesting. Why aren't those people spending their money on Pakistan rather than building palaces outside Pakistan.
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: As far as I know those who have escaped Pakistan in the past were all Pakistani citizens e.g, Musharraf, Shukat Aziz, Baloch seperatist, Benazir Bhutto and infact Mian sahib also went into exile on his Pakistani passport. Please name few dual ciztizens who were involved in corruption and ran away from Pakistan, it will be benifical for readers. I will also appreciate it if you could give a defination of Pure Pakistanis.

Dual nationality should not be the issue.In the past psuedo-nationalist sold themselves to India, Afghanistan{then under King Zahir Shah and USSR.Today they are having the time of their lives.Who was responsible for the 65 war.Certainly not the Field Marshal but a bootlicking lackey who climbed to great heights on the dupatta of his spouse and after achieving his ambition treat her like dirt.Wake up Pakistanis character building is a word which has disappeared from our lexicon since 69.
Dual Nationals should be barred from contesting elections once and for all.
We need pure Pakistanis who can lay down their lives for the sake of Pakistan and should not escape from Pakistan on their foreign passports when the country needs them.

why now when they already completed the 5 year term?
At least all aspiring candidates while filing their nomination papers to contest ensuing election must declare dual nationality held by any of its close family members( wife/ husband& children) in addition to their total wealth. annual income, tax returns / tax paid for last three years.. This may be made mandatory to declare( if elected) these details every year within a time frame with a penal clause in case of delay in submission . . This transparency( which be made available in public domain ) will keep a check on corruption.. such declarations may be extended to bureaucrats too and any modification if required in legislation be demanded and ensured. Government is bound to bow before the public pressure if exerted.Real democracy will be visible thereafter..

Apart from the dual nationality members of Parliament there are some heavy weight members of parliament whose spouses have acquired foreign nationality. The dual nationality clause should also be extended to them as well.
