Accompanied by US ambassador Anne W Patterson, Holbrooke was briefed about the flood situation at the Circuit House in Makli, Thatta.
The American officials also visited a relief camp at Makli stadium amid strict security arrangements.
Heavy contingents of Police and Rangers were deployed at different places, whereas all markets in the area remained closed.
Holbrooke also conducted an aerial view of Kot Almo and other flood hit areas of Thatta district.
