Raid: Drugs seized, pharmacist held

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have seized a sizable quantity of banned international medicine and arrested of the owner off the medical store.


On Friday, FIA circle in-charge Khalid Salim told media personnel that he conducted a raid at Nouman Enterprises, a medical store at Shinkiari Road.

During the search, he seized several cartons of banned international medicines beside injections that were donated to the health department from foreign donors to be administered to the flood-hit communities.

The FIA also recovered surgery and other hospital related articles from the store that were also donated to different health government-run health facilities but the accused obtained them in connivance of health department officials.

The FIA arrested Noman Ahmed, the owner under section 409 and 379 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
