
The Anti-Narcotics Force will work towards better cooperation among the law enforcement agencies to control drugs.
A decision to this end was taken at the sixth meeting of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) head at the ANF headquarters in Rawalpindi. ANF director-general chaired the meeting.
Top officials of all law enforcement agencies attended the meeting and presented their performance reports on narcotics control.
IATF Secretariat Secretary presented a report about the drugs seized during 2012.
The officials discussed matters related to alternative livelihood programmes for areas in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa that have traditionally depended on poppy growth. They also discussed measures taken against destruction of drug dens, establishment of treatment centres for addicts in government hospitals and jails and.
