KARACHI: The Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) camp, currently underway in Islamabad at the Pakistan Sports Board complex, is still awaiting as many as 10 boxers to report for training despite beginning on January 21.

The camp began amidst a dispute between senior officials of the federation and top departmental players have not made an appearance yet. However, coach Majeed Brohi was confident that all players would be in full attendance within the next two days.

“Some players were on departmental leave which is why they haven’t reported yet,” Brohi told The Express Tribune. “But I hope to have all the players soon so we can set our training into full swing.”

Brohi said the players would have no problems adjusting because he had only begun with light training. The camp will see 25 senior boxers undergo training with the PBF aiming to induct young boxers as well. This will be in their interest as they are keeping an eye on the Asian Youth Boxing Championship to be held in March in Philippines.
