Security arrangements: Lawyers to call on police chief, judges
The Lahore Bar Association representatives will meet the inspector general of police on Monday
LAHORE:
The Lahore Bar Association representatives will meet the inspector general of police on Monday (today) to seek foolproof security arrangements at subordinate courts, The Express Tribune has learnt. LBA President Nauman Qureshi and Vice President Tauqeer Sadiq will meet the IGP to express their concern over inadequate security arrangements at the subordinate courts, especially at the Aiwan-i-Adl and the Sessions Court complex. The LBA representatives will demand metal detectors and walk-through gates. LBA President Nauman Qureshi told The Express Tribune there was a threat to lawyers, judges and litigants at the subordinate courts as no measures had been taken to stop untoward incidents. He said thousands of lawyers and litigants approached the courts everyday. He said he would also meet additional district and sessions judges on Monday (today) to strengthen relations between the bar and the bench. He said the LBA wanted a peaceful atmosphere in courts.
