Clifton SP Nasir Aftab confirmed that Dhedhi’s nephew, Faizan, his driver, two private security guards and a friend had been taken into custody from Bilawal House Chowrangi, within the jurisdiction of Boat Basin police station. A duty-officer, Muhammad Aqeel, told The Express Tribune that Faizan and his companions were travelling in a silver Mercedes when they were stopped by the police for routine snap-checking.
As they were looking inside the car, the law enforcers found two sub-machineguns and two pistols, and then took the men to a police station.
The officer added that the detainees later produced the permits and licenses for the weapons, after which they were released. No case had been registered against the five men, as they had licences, and were not displaying the weapons. AKD was unavailable for comments, despite repeated attempts to reach him.

@abc: "Why are civilians allowed to possess machine guns/assault rifles in the first place? " . To hunt sparrows.
Why are civilians allowed to possess machine guns/assault rifles in the first place?
@Raza Khan: Punish them why? Because he's AKD's nephew and you're not?
the detainees later produced the permits and licenses for the weapons, after which they were released.
By law you are required to carry your permit all the time when carrying weapons. They were obviously not, hence taken to the police station.
@Raza Khan:
Punish them for not breaking any law? The news says they were checked and taken to Police station but all the weapons were legal and they had the permit to carry them.
Dont see the news or the problem in this
So what is the point of publishing this article.
One wonders if Karachi Police posses more weapons then Karachiites........
and whats the reason of publishing this as news?
Why is this news when they had a license ?
Punish them!
