Boxing: ‘Pacquiao easy picking for Mayweather’ (Sports – brief)

Bernard Hopkins is done worrying about whether Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will ever square off

Bernard Hopkins is done worrying about whether Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will ever square off in the ring, according to Michigan Live. And he wonders if Pacquiao’s recent knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez has shaved a few years off the Filipino star’s career. Mayweather plans to return to the ring May 4 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but not against Pacquiao. The likely opponent is Robert Guerrero, with the possibility of a fight against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez down the road. Negotiations for a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight have stalled many times. “It would be easy pickings for Floyd Mayweather,” said Hopkins. “I picked Floyd Mayweather to win before the knockout. Now if they fought — which I don’t see happening — Floyd Mayweather would make it even easier than I predicted the first time.”
