NAROWAL: Students of the Government College of Commerce protested on Tuesday against the government’s failure to construct a proper building three years after its inauguration. The students gathered in front of the office of the district coordination officer and shouted slogans. They said due to the lack of a building, students sat in an open sky. They said the situation became unbearable in the winters. They said on rainy days classes had to be abandoned. They said some classes were held in two rented rooms nearby, while the rest of the students sat in the ground. The DCO told The Express Tribune that the college had been previously run by a non government organisation. He said the Higher Education Department had taken over the college a few months ago. He said the building would be constructed in a month.
