Targeted killings: Two political workers shot dead

Police officials claim to have arrested one of the suspects, Sajid, who worked for a crime gang in Lyari.

KARACHI: Two political workers were among the four people killed in Karachi on Monday.

Members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, 32-year-old Adnan alias Tanki and 30-year-old Amir Iqbal, were shot dead by two men on a motorcycle in North Karachi, near the Khwaja Ajmer Nagri police station. The deceased hailed from New Karachi. Adnan was an employee of Karachi Municipal Corporation and Amir used to work at the Fire Brigade Department.

District West DIG Javed Odho told The Express Tribune that Adnan died on the spot and Amir succumbed to his injuries at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police officials claim to have arrested one of the suspects, Sajid, who worked for a crime gang in Lyari.
