The Judicial Magistrate (South) Sadruddin Bohio convicted Asif Khan after the prosecution successfully established that Khan was using a fake licence.
The complainant, Muhammad Jameel Iqbal, an assistant sub-inspector, had registered the case after a traffic constable challenged him for violating traffic rules in January 2009.
An FIR was registered against him at the Pakistan Bazaar police station.
Khan, who was released on bail, was arrested from the court room and sent to jail to serve out the sentence.
