House collapse: Owners of collapsed house get bail

The FIR says that another house owned by the accused had collapsed in Bhati Gate area.

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Khizar Hayat Khan on Monday summoned the police record for January 28 after granting bail to two brothers accused of criminal neglect towards maintenance of a house which collapsed and killed five members of a family. The judge granted bail to Mohammad Azam and Mohammad Kashif till January 28 and summoned the complainant and the police record. According to the FIR registered under Section 322, the accused had rented out their two-storey house to Mohammad Shahzad for Rs1,800 per month. Shahzad had been requesting the owners for repairs to the house. On January 18, the house collapsed, killing Shahzad, his wife, two sons and a daughter. The FIR said that another house owned by the accused had collapsed in Bhati Gate area. The accused pleaded innocence.
