KARACHI: Investigators probing the Shahzeb Khan murder case have nominated Shahrukh Jatoi’s cousins Salman Jatoi and Asif Lund as suspects, Express News reported on Monday.

The decision was taken in light of the statements provided by eye-witnesses.

Shahzeb, the young son of a police officer, was shot dead in the upscale Defence neighbourhood of Karachi on December 25 over a petty dispute.

Prime suspect Shahrukh, who had slipped away from the country to evade arrest after the murder, was brought back by the police after he was deported from Dubai. He was identified as the alleged killer by the witnesses during an identification parade.

Shahrukh will also be taken to hospital today for his age verification.

@Dr. Asad Sadick, Germany:

The faces are covered in case they are proven innocent (you know, it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty....). By allowing their faces to be seen they can be identified, and it is in some attempt at trying to prevent other people from murdering them on the street if they are found innocent.

Particularly more important in this case because it is so high profile and people are calling for the accused to be killed (hanged) - even if found not guilty (as everyone is assuming them all guilty). So the less people who know what they look like, the safer any accused is supposed to be.

Sharukh Jatoi is no doubt committed a murder and then fled to Dubai with another passport.He must be sent to jail and tried for posseion of duplicate passport which is a forgery. Why did he escape to dubai. Shahrukh father and others who helped him fly to dubai should be punished. Thanks to CJ that the culprit is arrested and brought back to face the music.
