Targeted: Explosion hits electricity transmission line

Shah says that the explosion occurred in a crowded place by the side of the road, fortunately no one was harmed.

A bomb planted close to an electricity transmission pole near Swabi Grid Station exploded on Sunday evening at around 7:15pm. SHO Swabi police station, Izhar Shah, accompanied by police personnel and bomb disposal squad (BDS) rushed to the site after the incident and surrounded the area.

Shah said that the explosion occurred in a crowded place by the side of the road, fortunately no one was harmed. “The electricity pole did not get damaged in the blast,” he added, saying that a local political leader who lived nearby, informed him about the explosion.


According to the BDS, one kilogramme of explosives were used in the blast. Police has registered an FIR against unidentified militants.
