Boxing: Garcia remains unbeaten

Undefeated boxer Miguel ‘Mikey’ Garcia extended his winning streak to 31 fights after battering veteran Orlando Salido at The Theater at the Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, according to ABS-CBN. Garcia sent Salido to the canvas four times but sustained a broken nose in the eighth round. The fight was stopped, and Garcia picked up a wide points victory via technical decision. “I didn’t know that my nose was broken, but I felt the pain from the head butt,” said Garcia “It was a unanimous decision win and I was beating him up. I was working to keep him off with the jab.” The judges scored the fight 79-70, 79-69 and 79-69, all in favor of Garcia.
