Quaid Trophy: Shah takes 6 again to demolish Faisalabad

Leg-spinner’s heroics lead Abbottabad to 8-wicket win.

KARACHI: Leg-spinner Yasir Shah bagged another six-wicket haul to spur Abbottabad to an eight-wicket win over Faisalabad in their Group II match on the second day of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy round five yesterday.

Abbottabad, who resumed play at 126 for eight, were bowled out after adding just nine runs, securing a first-innings lead of 43 runs. Faisalabad were again pummeled by Shah and were bowled out for 152. The leg-spinner grabbed six for 49 to complete match figures of 12 for 69.

Abbottabad achieved the 110-run target comfortably after losing just two wickets.

Elsewhere, Hyderabad continued to dominate Bahawalpur, declaring their first-innings on 513 for nine. In reply, the visitors lost two wickets with 60 runs on board.

Meanwhile, Rawalpindi dismissed Lahore Shalimar for 116 and were leading with 41 runs at the close of play.

In Group I, Karachi Blues amassed 410 in their first-innings against hosts Multan who were on 84-2 at stumps.

Elsewhere, Peshawar made 346 against Sialkot. However, Sialkot ended the day with 81 for one.
