DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Local leaders and members of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and People’s Students Federation (PSF) held a rally at the Bannu Press Club. They protested against the Supreme Court’s decision to arrest the prime minister and Dr Tahirul Qadri’s long march. The Bannu district leader of PPP, Bismallah Khan, said ‘forces’ were trying to derail democracy in Pakistan. He alleged that the history of the Supreme Court shows the judiciary has always given decisions against PPP and the bias continues. On the occasion, PPP senior member Janabil Wazir also contributed adding Tahirul Qadri created a political party in the past which failed. According to Wazir, his reappearance is the result of ‘hidden forces’ destabilising Pakistan. If Qadri has public backing, he should take part in upcoming elections, he added. There was police presence in the city and the rally ended peacefully.
