SHEHR RASOOL NAGAR: Electricity supply to Shehr Rasool Nagar in Gujranwala district was disconnected for more than 18 hours after some men tried to steal an electricity pole on Tuesday night. Power resumed on Wednesday evening after new wires were laid and the pole installed again. Residents of the Dera Abdullah Colony said some men had tried to steal the pole. In the attempt they cut off the wires, disrupting power supply to the colony. When some people went out to see why power supply had been suspended, they saw the thieves. On seeing the residents, they fled, leaving the pole behind in two pieces. Gujranwala Electric Power Company officials arrived after the SDO was informed about the incident. A complaint was filed with the police. No one has been arrested so far.
